Nickel-and-Dimed to Death
The simple fact is that there is a number of due diligence steps that must be performed in today’s market. Generally these steps are accomplished via reports which are pulled through various third party vendors, or government agencies (4506T, Work Number VOE, VOR, QRE). Each of these reports costs money and with many lenders these fees are pushed back on the Branch or Individual. At Choice Lending we believe these reports, and their costs, are the responsibility of the Lender. We don’t nickel-and –dime our branches with the costs of doing business as a lender. These fees are on us.

In this ongoing sales role, the Mortgage Loan Officer continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. A Mortgage Loan Officer’s network may consist of real estate professionals, builders, professional and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources, and is enhanced by the Mortgage Loan Officer’s regular participation in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote home ownership and professional organizations.
The LO conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advice customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information. The LO ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements.
3+ years of sales and/or mortgage industry experience.
This individual is responsible for directing and managing the sales activities of a branch of retail Mortgage Loan Consultants, ensuring profitability, market share growth, and a high level of customer service. Also responsible for producing high quality loans that meet Choice Lending Corp’s guidelines by building relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, past customers, and other nontraditional sources while providing excellent customer service. Strong sales and organizational skills are essential.

A Loan Officer Assistant works alongside designated Loan officers in a productive environment under the direction of the loan officer or group of loan officers.
Will provide clerical and administrative support to the loan officer and acts as a liaison between the loan officer, in-process customers and branch operations staff. This position involves supporting a team in the loan origination process as well as performing daily administrative tasks. Tasks are completed with a deadline and with proficiency.

The Senior Loan Processor is responsible for the collection, review, and submission of loan, credit, income, and asset documents and gathering information pertinent to loan files as well as following through with the customer for subsequent document requests throughout the loan cycle.
The senior loan processor is responsible for moderate to complex loans, working with a broad spectrum of loan documents. This role is expected to enhance the customer experience in a professional and timely manner while achieving cycle time benchmarks. Employee will be responsible for loans with added complexity (foreign national borrowers, etc.) and have capacity to oversee a pipeline with a higher degree of complexity. The senior loan processor is responsible for preparing an enhanced package to underwriter for review

A Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for examining residential loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents. You may be required to work with more senior mortgage underwriters on loan exceptions having the authority to withdraw and decline loans.
Mortgage Underwriters may be involved in one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government-backed, etc.). You may also be required to respond directly to individual and investor audits. This job code includes all levels of underwriting authority and exception levels, review CD and issue final Post Closing CD
A Loan Funder will be responsible for reviewing loan documents for completeness and accuracy, ensure loan documents are in compliance with State & Federal guidelines, review CD and issue final Post Closing CD, review and clear all escrow conditions, verify all funded loans are ready to deliver to investor, resolve any post-closing discrepancies needed, perform other related duties as assigned.
